Written and recorded in Brixton, the historic Jamaican neighbourhood in London, and even today the heart of Caribbean culture in the capital, “INA THIS YA TIME” deftly mixes Caribbean influences with London’s own urban culture.
O.B.F. tears down the wall between grime and reggae, bringing together 3 well-known UK MCs with complementary styles. Charlie P sings, Iran toasts, and Killa P spits pure grime in his bars, each shining a light on the state of our society today.
For many of the youth of the world, the situation is dire. How can they think of the future when they’re far away from everything, disconnected from major urban centres, deprived of proper education and professional horizons, and when their parents have to work several jobs just to make ends meet?

When you’re part of a world where it’s normal to see someone stabbed for looking the wrong way at the wrong time, where hustling has become a form of survival, and where crime and gang warfare part of daily life, the only rule to respect if you want to survive is that of the street itself.

In these times (Ina This Ya Time), the youth of the ghetto also deserve the right to a better future.

Crée et enregistré à Brixton, quartier emblématique londonien et poumon de la diaspora jamaïcaine, « INA THIS YA TIME » mélange avec finesse les influences caribéennes avec les codes propres à la culture urbaine londonienne. O.B.F casse les barrières entre le grime et le reggae en s’associant à 3 chanteurs biens connus de la scène UK, qui, avec leurs différents styles, chanté pour Charlie P, toasté pour Irah et purement grime pour Killa P, amènent un éclairage inédit dans la forme sur la société.

Pour une partie des jeunes des quartiers, la situation est dramatique. Comment envisager l’avenir quand on est éloigné de tout, déconnecté des grands centres urbains, dépourvu d’infrastructures scolaire dignes de ce nom, de perspectives professionnelles et que les parents doivent cumuler plusieurs boulots pour joindre les deux bouts ?

Quand on est plongé dans un quotidien où on se poignarde pour un regard de travers, où la débrouille est élevée au rang d’art de vivre et le crime et les guerres de gang sont la norme, la loi de la rue est la seule à respecter pour espérer survivre.

De nos jours (Ina This Ya Time ), les jeunes du ghetto, eux aussi, ont le droit a un avenir meilleur.
